about me
Raised by an abstract artist in the mountains of Colorado, I have been cultivating a unique visual style from day one. While I specialize in filmmaking, my expertise is far reaching and includes written word, photography, live A/V production, and graphic design. Above all else I am highly adaptable and capable of translating my education in composition, lighting, color, movement, and pacing into any visual medium.

This artistic versatility is coupled with intellectual flexibility and a robust technical toolset. I have experience in a wide variety of A/V and IT software, and am capable of coding in multiple languages including HTML and Python. As a result I can not only utilize these digital tools for your projects, but am highly capable of quickly learning any new software necessary for the job.

My hardware experience is also wide and varied including many different cameras, from GoPros and the Sony a7s ii personal mirrorless camera, to top of the line Arri Alexa cinema cameras; a wide variety of computers, network systems, and printers and FAX machines; comprehensive audio hardware including Yamaha audio consoles, multi channel mic systems, Zoom audio systems for filmmaking, and post production sound setups; and extensive lighting and grip equipment for film and photography.

Audio Visual Production Technician February 2024 - Present:
As a production technician I oversee and utilize a wide range of multimedia production gear and software for live events. This includes videos, slides, and projections, multi-channel microphone systems and audio consoles, live editing with a video switcher, lighting setups, PTZ cameras, and stadium audio and video (including jumbotron operation).

Library Assistant October 2023 - August 2024
As a Library Assistant, in addition to working the circulation desk and stacks, I also oversaw the creation and operation of several clubs. This involved continual outreach and marketing efforts including print and digital flyers, email blasts, an ad at the local movie theater, and newspaper articles.

Restoration Technician and Natural Resources Intern May 2021 November - 2021:
During my time as a restoration technician, I was also hired to make a documentary about the tundra restoration crew (my crew) and their process. This documentary was roughly 14min long. I planned, directed, shot, and edited the entire project myself.

Teaching Assistant January 2022 - May 2022:
At AIB, I worked as a TA for a documentary filmmaking study abroad program. In this position I:
Assisted the professors and program manager in teaching five college level study abroad courses on documentary filmmaking.
Oversaw the equipment room including the organization and maintenance of supplies, and check-out process for students.
Taught and graded coursework for Avid Media Composer video editing lab.
Assisted students with the production of thesis documentaries and other projects. This included being the cinematographer for several projects.

Camera Services Technician August 2016 - May 2020:
As a camera services technician I operated a lending facility for a wide range of top of the line cinematography gear for LMU students including Arri Alexa Minis, Zeiss Prime Cinema lenses, and other cutting edge equipment.
Honors Research Fellow May 2017 - March 2018:
I applied for and received grant funding for an independent research project titled: LARPing, Game Theater, and the Social Future of Immersive Entertainment. For this project I conducted a literature review on live interactive entertainment, ludology, and the concept of “immersion.” I also participated in the live interactive theatrical game Dragon Thrones and interviewed its creators. The result was a 3000+ word paper which I published through LMU. I Then disseminated the findings at the This is Honors research symposium, as well as LMU’s annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.
Rains Scholar:
I applied for and received another grant for another independent research project, this time titled Mythos and Transmedia, Emergence in Transmedia. The focus of this project was transmedia storytelling (transmedia is a form of multimedia defined by a single branching network of stories over multiple forms of media), interactive storytelling, emergent storytelling (a form of storytelling where the literal plot is generated by the interaction between the consumer and the media), and fantasy world building with an emphasis on The Lord of the Rings and the game Shadow of Mordor. This research was disseminated at LMU’s annual undergraduate research symposium.

Member January 2020 - May 2020:
As a member of the Divest LMU coalition, I created several promotional videos to raise awareness of our fossil fuel divestment efforts for our university.

Theater Technician and Intern August 2013 - August 2020:
At Reel Kids I had a wide variety of responsibilities over many years. These included supervising filmmaking summer camps, operating audio visual equipment for theatrical productions, creating visual effects, providing IT assistance, choreographing fight scenes, and painting sets. I was also a member of the Reel Kids film troupe, a group for high school students which focused on learning and practicing filmmaking skills. We applied our education directly to high level projects, including a series of commercials for local companies.

Gilman Scholar August 2018 - July 2019:
As a recipient of the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, I created a promotional video for the scholarship outlining my experience studying abroad, the importance of studying abroad, and the nature of the Gilman Scholarship Program.
